KEY LEARNINGS
Translate value-sensitive design for the user.

We learned that some of our questions were too emotional and users didn't understand why it was necessary. We had to find a balance between thinking holistically about birth control and providing medically-informed suggestions.
Rely on healthcare experts to inform design decisions.

Despite having personal experience in choosing birth control, this project required translating dense medical information into a seamless user experience. Relying on the client’s expertise was necessary to ensure we were on the right track.
Overcome communication barriers with teammates.

I learned a lot about how to communicate with teammates who speak a different native language than me and who come from different cultures. This became especially important since we went remote halfway through the project due to COVID.
