set student expectations
The PIC identified a third-party company to develop the application. I participated on weekly calls with the California-based development team and was able to advocate for features that we valued such as a progress indicator. The progress indicator helps set student expectations and give them an understanding of where they are in the digital experience.
Given that the primary users were teenagers, we were also mindful of their attention span and the complexity of our questions. We incorporated skip logic into our application so that students would only see relevant questions to their previous answers.
